After fending off stiff opposition to win most of the elective positions in the 2015 general election, the Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has begun a soul searching exercise to review its overall performance at the polls.
To this end, an 18- member committee was inaugurated monday by Governor Theodore Orji to appraise the performance of the party in the state in the last elections.
The committee headed by a former state chairman of the PDP in the state, Chief Ndidi Okereke is charged among others with the responsibility of ascertaining the perceivable problems and constraints faced by the party during the elections.
Abia PDP won all the National Assembly seats, comprising three Senate and eight House of Representatives, governorship position and 13 out of the 24 seats in the state House of Assembly, thereby losing its dominance of the state legislature.
