Lagos—Following the high intensity of rainfall, Lagos State government yesterday, advised residents living in the low line areas (flood plains) to relocate due to the rising level of water from the rainfall. Ayodeji Adenekan, who gave the advice, said it became necessary for affected residents because of the persistent rains since March which had led to the rise in water level of the lagoons and rivers as a result of back-flow into adjoining low line areas.
He said this had also led to the inability of the various channels and drains to discharge.
